Shoes

Shoes are one of the trickiest items to buy when kitting out your kids for back to School – they must be innovative and stylish, fit well and be durable enough to last all day at school. It’s also worth checking your local School’s uniform guidelines to ensure the shoes you choose match.

The best girls’ school uniform shoes balance comfort and durability with style, allowing girls to express their personalities while adhering to the School’s dress code. Designed to withstand the demands of the school day, these footwear options feature high-quality materials and sturdy construction to withstand the wear and tear of regular use and daily activity.

With a classic patent leather finish and sweet bow detailing, these girls’ school shoes from La Coqueta are ideal for young girls looking to add a touch of elegance to their everyday outfits. They have an easy-to-fast hook and loop tape strap, a chunky gripped sole for added comfort and a recycled lining with Microfresh technology to keep feet fresher for longer.

There are plenty of other options in the school shoe department at Asda, including black plimsolls that start from PS4. The lace-up trainer style from the Marvel Spider-Man range is another popular choice. It has a (subtle) character design, an easy-to-fast hook and loop tape shoe strap, a chunky gripped sole, underfoot padding and recycled lining with Microfresh technology.

Then there’s the super cool and colourful Bobbi-Shoes range with designs such as dinosaur icons and easy-to-fast options, plus the Memphis One range with fun decals and more formal styles like loafers and T-bar shoes. And if your child needs extra support on their feet, they have a range of orthotics to fit inside shoes ranging from PS10 to PS20.

Regarding girls school uniform shoes, getting your little ones measured as they grow is always a good idea. They need a snug fit but shouldn’t be too tight or loose, which can cause discomfort throughout the day.

Socks

School uniform socks are available in various colours and styles. They are a must for kids and teens as they add style to the look of one’s outfit. They can be short for boys or long till their knees for girls. These socks can be either cotton or woollen, whereas some are designed as ribbed or trouser socks to give a stylish look. They are also a bit lighter in weight than regular long socks. Girls ribbed school socks are one of the best options for teenage girls. They are a stylish choice worn with casual and formal attire.

Girls’ nylon school socks are a comfortable choice for everyday wear. They are made from a cotton-rich blend that is soft and breathable. Nylon adds strength, and spandex gives a great stretch, so they stay up! They come in a three-pack. Triple-roll anklet socks are warm and soft, adding a stylish finish to any footwear. The first hat bands were introduced in about the 1930s. The photograph below shows Una Watson, who was at the School from 1928 (Preparatory School) until UV in July 1939. She is wearing a straw hat, which resembles the sailor style that would have been popular then. This type of hat was worn until about 2014 when it was replaced with a thermal reversible green and red hat. The photo below is Joyce Magor from 1944 – she has the same type of hat.
